Rushy Pen

Up to three Green Sandpiper and a new Avocet family of three chicks. A Marsh Harrier was circling at 10.20am and was seen on both Landrover safaris.

Holden Tower

Peregrine Falcon on the posts, 90+ Curlew, juvenile Redshank, 23 Black-tailed Godwit, 5 Oystercatcher and three Yellow-legged Gulls and four Common Gull among the other gull species at high tide.

Top New Piece/Zeiss Hide

A flock of 53 Dunlin, 2 Greenshank, 1 Common Sandpiper, 4 Green Sandpiper, 2 Greenshank, 1 Little ringed Plover, 2 Oystercatcher, 40 Aovcet, 137 Lapwing and 63 Redshank (4 juveniles and two chicks). Small numbers of Teal and a few broods of Gadwall were also present.

South Lake

Four Green Sandpiper, 3 Dunlin, 100+ Black-tailed Godwit, 10 Redshank (4 juveniles), 2 male Ruff and the breeding Avocets. 113 Gadwall with a brood of ducklings on the scrape.

Middle Point

20-30 Sand Martin lingering and feeding over the point.
