Estuary (summer walkway)

Good bird watching here early (08.30) this morning. 70 Dunlin, 29 Ringed Plover, 2 Sanderling, 8 Curlew and 2 Avocet only meters away in front of the viewing area. Reed Warbler, Reed Bunting and Sedge Warbler in the reeds and a Cuckoo calling nearby.

Tack Piece

Very active here this morning, 5 Little Egrets, a Greenshank, brood of 2 Avocet and 2 well grown Lapwings. Heron and Reed Warblers close to the hide and 2 Cranes in the field.

Holden Tower

Peregrine on Dumbles edge.

Rushy

Avocet 10 ad and at least 11 young. Oystercatcher brood (3) close to the hide and a 1st summer Mediteranean Gull.

South Lake

Avocet central here again 32 adults and at least 11 young and 3 pairs still incubating. Only 17 Black Tailed Godwit and 2 adult Little grebe on the lake.

Hogarth

Crane still incubating, Avocet another 14 adults to add to the South Lake total including 2 still incubating. The main Godwit flock was here with 70 birds sheltering from the wind.

Zeiss Hide

Avocet 5 and Gadwall 42.

South Finger

Kingfishers still feeding and 2 Cattle Egret among the Longhorns from the Van De Bovenkamp.

Sedge Reed and Cettis Warbler.
Pochard with brood 6
Gadwall with brood 4
Great Crested Grebe.
Common Tern.
Grass Snake 2 females
