Rushy

Reports this morning of egg shells being carried away from one of the three Avocet nest but no sightings as yet of the young. The male American Green winged Teal was seen at the back of the lower pool with two Euro Teal. There were 32 Black tailed Godwit, a single Green Sandpiper and the Oystercatcher family here as well.

Holden

A Cettis was singing along the walkway, three Green Sandpipers and a Little Egret were in front of the Robbie Garnett Hide. A big tide at 08.00 all but covered the island, there were 97 Curlew and 4 Oystercatchers but no smaller waders.

Zeiss Hide

A taste of winter here with a male Pintail 4 Wigeon and 32 Teal. There were four Little Egrets two distantly in the Bottom New Piece field. Another two Green sandpipers and three Black Tailed Godwits.

South Lake

No sign as yet of the Spoonbill, the post breeding flock of Redshank has started to build with 32 here this morning, no sign of any juveniles but perhaps a little early yet ( there are adults protecting young still on Frampton shore). Another 12 Teal here and a scattering of Gadwall and Shoveler.

Broods of Shelduck everywhere !
