Latest Sightings

A great couple of days with some sensible weather. Yesterday's swan catch went well with 37 Whoopers caught, measured, weighted and ringed, as well as Shelduck and a load of Mallard. You'll be able to see what happens on the One Show on BBC 1 in the near future.

A good selection of birds with 6 species of raptor, Merlin, 3 Peregrine, 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk. Also a report of Short-eared Owl.

A good wader day with 800+ Lapwing, 40+ Ruff, 30 Black-tailed Godwit, 2 Redshank and a few Common Snipe.

Some thrushes moving with some small flocks of Fieldfare flying over the reserve. Also a couple of Jay seen.
