Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Latest Sightings

Glorious sunshine but wrap up warm!

A good count of 5000+ Pink-footed Geese, well worth checking through as a Bean Goose (probable Taiga) was seen locally in the past couple of days. Wildfowl counts included 408 Whooper Swan (more roosting), 519 Greylag, 660 Shelduck, 450+Wigeon, 300+ Teal, 220 Pintail, 25 Pochard, 20 Tufted Duck, and 3 Goldeneye. The cold weather coming may bring in birds displaced from the east over the next few days.

Waders included 300+ Lapwing (numbers dropping back in the cold weather), 158 Ruff (biggest count of the winter), 34 Avocet, 25+ Black-tailed Godwit, 21 Oystercatcher and 5 Snipe. Woodcock again yesterday at least.

Raptors reported today included 6 Buzzard, 3 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
