Little Gull again

The Little Gull is still present and at times calling vociferously and displaying around the Mere. Two Common Sandpiper around the Mere all day and at least 1 Little ringed Plover. Lots of Avocets, Oystercatcher, Lapwing and Redshank around the reserve along with 2 Dunlin and 20 Ruff (inc stunning male in breeding plumage) from Ron Barker, also 20 Curlew and at least 3 Black tailed Godwit.

Quite a few Swallows through today also a House Martin and Sand Martins. Great spotted Woodpecker from Janet Kear. Raptors were represented by sev Common Buzzard, Kestrel and a Sparrowhawk. Willow Warblers, Chiffchaff, Blackcap, Sedge Warbler and Grasshopper Warblers have been seen in recent days. With easterly winds forecast for the next 4+ days, the chance of something unusual turning up is high......
