Med Gull
Adult winter plumage Mediterranean Gull, moulting into breeding plumage with Black-headed Gulls on the Mere in the morning and later in the afternoon.
The gull roost on the reserve is currently ~ 2300, mostly Black-heads. Other gulls recorded today included 19 Common Gull, 2 Lesser Black-backed and 2 Greater Black-backed Gulls.
Avocet numbers increased to 28. Also present 600+ Lapwing, 60+ Oystercatcher, 40+ Ruff, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit and at least 2 Ringed Plover.
Two Peregrine throughout the day, 3+ Common Buzzard and Kestrel.
Nuthatch near the Beaver Area.
