Merlin

The first Merlin of the autumn was seen today a fem/imm bird from Ron Barker along with Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and sev Common Buzzard. Two Avocet still from Ron Barker along with a Ringed Plover, 1 Ruff and 1 Black tailed Godwit. Still at least 2-3 Green Sandpipers on site today.

Good numbers of Swifts with a flock of 100 flew south, also 2 Sand Martin and good numbers of Swallows and a few House Martin.

A few Butterfly's noted today include Meadow Brown, Green veined White, Small Skipper and Speckled Wood and the Bee Orchid near the Harrier Hide is still in flower.
