Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Some counts

A bit of a compilation of sightings from the last few days. Very windy this morning but much calmer now as I type this.

Some wetland bird counts included ~ 300 Whooper Swan, Mute Swan, 550 Greylag, 100 Canada Geese, 5000+ Pink-footed Geese, 1000+ Mallard, 250 Wigeon, 8 Gadwall, 1750 Teal, 58 Pintail, 24 Shoveler, 14 Pochard, 8 Tufted Duck, 2 Little Grebe, 7 Cormorant and 6 Grey Heron.

At least 3 Peregrine, 2 Marsh Harrier, 3 Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and 2 Sparrowhawk. Barn Owl and 2 Raven also seen.

Nuthatch on the in focus feeder (nice). Bittern seen again on the evening of the 14th on the Reedbed Walk. A few thousand Starling coming into roost there too.
