Excellent Crane watching

Holden Tower

Crane 16 on the Dumbles including all 3 juveniles and the 2 un-ringed birds.
Peregrine 2 adults on the cross fence.
Teal 70 in the Holden Scrape which is beginning to hold some water.

Willow Hide

Water Rail 3 showing very well at feeders.

Tack Piece

Teal 650 in the scrape and close to all hides.

Lapwing a very impressive 1860
Golden Plover 180 and increasing.
Dunlin 189 among the Lapwing.
Redshank 26 my highest count for a while.
Curlew 12.

Jack Snipe no sign yet from Martin Smith Hide but seen there yesterday afternoon.

Bewicks Swan 44 probably the whole flock still present at 08.00 and at least 6 new birds through the day including a family of 2 young.

reports of a Dipper near the visitor center that flew south through the grounds probably a first for the reserve.
