WWT Martin Mere is hosting its Volunteering Week from Monday 2nd to Sunday 8th March 2026 as we search for new volunteers to help shape our visitor experience.
With daily drop-in sessions from 2-4pm, anyone interested can come along, meet the team, and find out which role might suit them best. No booking is required just mention you're here to speak to a member of our team during the Volunteering Week, or you can apply direct to a volunteering role that suits you by viewing our roles below.

What is Volunteering Week?
Volunteering Week is an informal event where visitors can explore the different ways they can volunteer at WWT Martin Mere. You can speak directly with staff and current volunteers, ask questions, and get a feel for what volunteering is like before signing up.
Why volunteer at Martin Mere?
Volunteering at Martin Mere offers a range of benefits, including gaining new skills and experience, building confidence, making friends, and helping visitors connect with nature and wildlife. You will also get free entry to all of our WWT wetland centres.
Who can take part in volunteering week?
Anyone aged 18+ is welcome to attend the drop-in sessions. No previous experience is required.
How much time do I have to dedicate to volunteering?
Whether you can help one day a week, or multiple days a week. Or only on weekends or holidays, we’d welcome you to come along and find out more about how you can volunteer with us.
