Guided Walks

Every Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday, join one of our expert volunteers for a guided walk around our reserve.

Our wetlands are full of activity as the months get colder, and we are joined by migratory birds such as the pink-footed geese, shelducks, and wigeons. For an additional activity during your visit, take part in a guided winter walk around our grounds and reserve with one of our expert volunteers.

They'll tell you all about the history of our site and the wildlife you can see as you explore, including information about the amazing whooper swans and their migration journey from Iceland to Martin Mere.

Guided walks will take place at 10:30am Tuesdays, Wednesdays and Thursdays unless stated below are included as part of your admission or membership. This walk lasts approximately 1 and a half hours and may at times be muddy, so suitable footwear is advised. Meeting point is inside the Discovery Hide, with no booking needed.

There will be no guided walk on 23, 24, 25 30, or 31 December (we are also closed on 25 December). Guided walks will resume as normal on 6 January.
