Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

A few birds and a bit of mothing.

We had time to run the moth trap last night and caught 49 species including the migrant Dark Sword-grass.

A few more Black-tailed Godwit with 25 birds on the Mere including a few juveniles. Also 8 Ruff with one juvenile present, 20+ Common Snipe, 300+ Lapwing and Common Sandpiper.

Plenty of activity along the Nature Trail with good numbers of Tree Sparrow, Greenfinch, Chaffinch and Goldfinch around the feeders. A flock of Long-tailed Tit contained at least 15 birds as well as a few each of Coal, Blue and Great Tit.

Few reports received of raptors other than Marsh Harrier and Common Buzzard.
