Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Bird News

Another pleasant day warm in the sun. The raptors took advantage of the weather with a brief appearance of the adult male Hen Harrier, 10+ Common Buzzard seen from the reserve, 2 Peregrine which have been absent of late, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

Seven Barnacle Geese briefly late morning on the Mere the probable feral Ross's Goose still present.

Waders included 30 Avocet, 5 Ringed Plover, 7 Common Snipe, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit, 40+ Oystercatcher, 2 Dunlin and 700+ Lapwing.

The Siberian Chiffchaff present mid afternoon reported via the internet. Also an unconfirmed report of Twite, which would be very unusual indeed.
