Thursday 11 and Friday 12 December

Some of our birds will be off display on Thursday 11 and Friday 12 December, while vets carry out some routine health checks. If you would still like to visit us on these days, admission tickets will only be available on arrival and will be reduced to £10 an adult and £5 a child.

Curlew Sandpiper

Curlew Sandpiper still present on Woodend Marsh viewable from the United Utilities Hide. Also from there 7 Dunlin, 4 presumed Greenland Wheatear and Little Ringed Plover.

Six Whimbrel flew in onto the Mere mid afternoon. Other waders included breeding plumage Ruff, 6 Black-tailed Godwit, 10+ Oystercatcher, 20+ Redshank and 50+ Avocet.

The first 3 Lapwing chicks of the year seen from the Red Bed Walk.

The Sewage Works is the hirundine and swift hot spot with 100+ Common Swift and similar numbers of Swallow and some House Martin.
