Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Another excellent day on site with thousands of birds to be seen, including a female Hen Harrier which has been seen on and off for over a week now. Other raptors today included 3 Marsh Harrier, Merlin, 2 Peregrine (ad & juv), Sparrowhawk, Kestrel and Common Buzzard. The 1st winter Spotted Redshank from last weekend is still present and usually associating with the Ruff flock which contains up to 60 birds. A single Curlew and 6 Dunlin were present today along with up to 900 Lapwing and c20 Black tailed Godwit.

Two adult European White-fronted Goose were seen again among the c10,000 Pink feet using the site and 900 Whooper Swan.Other sightings today included Kingfisher, 15 Fieldfare and 2 Willow Tit which continue to use the Janet Kear feeding station.
