Hen Harrier, Green-winged Teal and Firecrest.

A top day! The influx of keen birders for the North West Birdwatching Festival paid dividends with a cracking Male Hen Harrier seen a couple times during the day, the first this autumn.

The somewhat elusive Firecrest, assuming it's the same bird was seen near the in focus shop along the Nature Trail.

Green-winged Teal with 3000+ Eurasian Teal from the Ron Barker Hide.

Including the Hen Harrier we had 7 species of raptor with 3 Perergrine, 1+ Marsh Harrier, Merlin seen chasing a snipe, 3 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Twenty two Barnacle Geese with Pink's.

Looks like the rain is moving through tonight so tomorrow is looking good for more good birding action.
