Kingfishers
At least 1 probably 2 Kingfishers have been showing well from Ron Barker hide today other sightings from here included 2 Dunlin and a Ringed Plover. Good numbers of Ruff on site today with unto 23 birds mainly on the Mere with c100 Black-tailed Godwit and 2 Redshank along with 2 Avocet from United Utilities hide.
A Little Egret was on site being seen on the Mere this morning, at least 1 juv Common Tern was seen and a juvenile Peregrine showed well from UU hide this afternoon.
At least 7 species of Butterfly were seen including Painted Lady, Comma and Gatekeeper. Also good chance to see Dragonflies at the moment with several Migrant Hawker and a few Southern Hawkers quite easy to see along the path from the exit gate through to Raines hide.
