Also in Woodend Marsh, there have been sightings of 2 Oystercatchers, 10 Shovelers and 1 Little Grebe. Stonechats have also been regularly spotted flying around the area. The leucistic Reed Bunting continues to show well at Janet Kear where Chiffchaffs and the occasional Woodpecker can be heard. At Harrier Hide, 2 Great Crested Grebes were seen along with 1 Water Rail and 9 Pochard

On the Mere, 40 Oystercatchers have been sighted towards the back feeding in the mud. 1 Marsh Harrier, 1 Kestrel and a Buzzard were also seen flying across the Mere. The Whooper Swans are still around for their regular feeds too as they start preparing for their flight back to Iceland.

On the path to Ron Barker, 50 Cattle Egrets were spotted today on the field across the road before swiftly moving to the field to the right of Ron Barker Hide. The Glossy Ibis may also be seen feeding among the Cattle Egrets.
