Latest Sightings
The Spoonbill has been sighted today on the Mere. Along with this, we have also had 1 House Martin, 1 Swift, and 2 Common Tern spotted from Discovery Hide. From Woodend Marsh, there have been a pleasant variety of birds sighted which include 6 Mediterranean Gull, 2 Redshank, 15 Avocets, and 1 Snipe.
The Bittern continues to be heard in the Reedbed, where Cetti's Warblers and Reed Warblers can also be heard regularly calling. On the other side of the reserve at Ron Barker Hide, 1 Kingfisher was seen on the hunt. Over the weekend, there were 10 Cattle Egrets, 2 Reed Bunting and 3 Marsh Harriers also seen from Ron Barker.
