The Bittern has been sighted regularly over the weekend. It can often be seen flying out from the Reedbed to feed. Also on the Reedbed Walk, Willow Warblers can be heard singing alongside the squeal of a Water Rail. On Woodend Marsh, 1 Kestrel, 3 Linnet, 8 Mediterranean Gulls and 2 Ravens were showing well on Saturday.

Meanwhile, on the Mere, Black-headed Gull chicks are showing very well on the islands as they start to get bigger and more adventurous. 2 Buzzards can often be seen circling round, likely on the hunt, and 10 House Martins were seen darting around. At Ron Barker Hide, an Artic Tern made an appearance on Saturday along with 2 Common Tern. Also at Ron Barker, 2 Kingfisher, 2 Great White Egret and 4 Whooper Swan
