Latest Sightings

It has been quiet on the reserve with the rainy and windy weather over the past few days. On the Mere, we have had sightings of one Mediterranean Gull, six Swifts and a pair of Shelduck with seven ducklings. Marsh Harriers have been seen in front of Ron Barker Hide passing food.

Over at Harrier Hide the Bittern was seen today flying out from the Reedbed. A Hobby was seen hunting over Woodend Marsh on Tuesday. This is also where Avocets can regularly be seen and, if you've got a good scope, you may even be able to see some Avocet chicks!
