The weather and views of wildlife in the past few days have been spectacular here on the reserve at Martin Mere. 

Just yesterday, 1 Cuckoo juvenile was spotted from behind Tomlinson hide on the Dry Patch field, along with 1 Raven

On the mere this week, 4 Pink-Footed Geese, 5 Swifts, 28 House Martins, 3 Shovelers, 4 Shelduck juveniles, 5 Gadwall, 3 Black-Tailed Godwits, 1 Stock Dove, 1 Common Gull, 2 Herring Gulls, 4+ Common Terns, and 1 Marsh Harrier male have been seen.

Along the path to Janet Kear hide, 2 Blackcaps, 1 Treecreeper, and 1 Chiffchaff were spotted today. Further along at the Harrier hide, 1 Little Egret, 3 Little Grebes, 5 Great Crested Grebes (1 adult with 4 juveniles), 7 Cormorants (6 adults with 1 juvenile), and 16 Tufted Ducks were seen hunting their aquatic prey.

Behind Gordon Taylor hide, 2 Reed Warblers were observed flitting through the vegetation on the bank of the sluice. 

On the path leading toward Tomlinson hide, 1 Kestrel male, 1 Buzzard, 5 Stonechats, and 3 Whitethroats were seen. 

Yesterday from Ron Barker hide, 4 Green Sandpipers, 2 Little Ringed Plovers, 9 Ruff males, 3 Snipe, 1 Great White Egret, and 4 Grey Heron were spotted.
