On the Mere today there is still plenty of birds to see on such a hot day. On one of the stony islands there are Common Terns with Juveniles, Black-tailed Godwits and Black-headed Gulls. On other Islands on the Mere there are large numbers of Lapwings, a Grey Heron, Snipe, Lesser Black-backed Gull and Ruff.
Green Sandpipers are wading in the muddy areas looking for food and a Juvenile Willow Warbler was seen feeding just in front of the Bird Observatory with the goldfinches.
A Kingfisher has been seen regularly at the Ron Barker Hide and Great White Egrets, Cattle Egrets and Little Egrets are showing well regularly throughout the site.
At Harrier Hide Great Crested Grebe and Little Grebe can be seen with their young.
