Med Gull

A round up of the weekends sightings. An adult non breeding Mediterranean Gull was present with Black-headed Gulls and is new for 2015. 'Med Gulls' are becoming far more common with double figure breeding pairs in Lancashire. A few Herring Gull and Common Gull dropped in during Sunday's murky conditions. The usual Great Black-backed Gulls and Lessers were present.

Tawny Owls were seen on Saturday at least. Kingfisher from the Ron Barker Hide. Chiffchaff and Grey Wagtail on the Reedbed Walk near the Sewage Works.

Redwings, Fieldfares, 2 Mistle Thrush, Song Thrush and Blackbirds all present around the reserve.

Marsh Harrier again and the usual Common Buzzards, Kestrels and Sparrowhawk.
