More Birds

Another marvelous day, feeling like the last blast of summer but with loads of autumn/winter birds around the reserve. At least 5000 Pink-footed Geese around the reserve. A few interesting geese among them including a single Barnacle Goose and a possible Pink-foot X Bean Goose hybrid.

A few waders including 1500+ Lapwing, Little Stint, Greenshank, 50+ Ruff, 10+ Common Snipe, Ringed Plover and Little Ringed Plover.

The usual raptors with 2+ Marsh Harrier, 5+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Meadow Pipits on the move through the reserve this morning.

Kingfisher again from the Ron Barker Hide. Little Egret on the Mere this afternoon.
