Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Avocet appear to be increasing at a rate of one a day with 7 birds now present. Although unlikely, if this were to continue to occur it'll be the 5 June before we reach last years peak numbers. Oy [...]

Avocet appear to be increasing at a rate of one a day with 7 birds now present. Although unlikely, if this were to continue to occur it'll be the 5 June before we reach last years peak numbers. Oystercatcher were up again with 71 at the back of the Mere late afternoon. Other waders included; 1000+ Lapwing, 80+ Ruff, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit and 6 Ringed Plover.

As usual plenty of raptors with 3 Marsh Harrier, 4+ Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Around 1000 Pink-footed Geese on the reserve from midday onwards but no reports of other geese sp.
