Pink-feet?
It's that time of year were thoughts turn to returning geese. There has been a build up of feral geese with ~350 Greylag and 40+ Canada Geese on the reserve today. In among the Greylag flock were two Pink-footed Geese. In recent years the first local sightings tend to occur at the end of August so it's possible that these are wild returning birds. Birds thought to be wild arrived at the Montrose Basin in Scotland on the 20th of August.

Waders reported today included 500+ Lapwing, 30+ Ruff including some intensely buff juveniles, 15+ Common Snipe and Greenshank.
Raptors included 3+ Common Buzzard, 4 Kestrel, Sparrowhawk and Marsh Harrier.
At least two Pintail new in of late, plenty of Teal arriving all in eclipsed plumage.
Kingfisher from the Ron Barker Hide and a Clouded Yellow butterfly there yesterday.
