A Short eared Owl and a Bewick's Swan were the best birds of the day, the Owl was seen by several observers while they were watching a Barn Owl hunting during the day, while the Bewick's Swan, a single bird spent most of the day asleep on the far side of the Mere and was still there at 16.20, and is probably a different bird from the two seen late on yesterday. When searching for Bewick's Swans any single or isolated swans well away from the 1700 Whooper Swans are well worth closer scrutiny.

Other birds today included the usual Ringtail Hen Harrier along with 4 Marsh Harrier and a Peregrine. c1000 Pink footed Geese were using the reserve today but no sightings of any White fronted Geese.
