Short-eared Owl Again
Bright and clear early on with some passing showers later, feeling cold. Short-eared Owl again mid afternoon from the Ron Barker Hide. Hopefully the bird will hang around this winter. At least 6 Common Buzzard on the reserve, 2 Marsh Harrier, 2 Peregrine, 3 Kestrel and 3 Sparrowhawk.
Waders include 700+ Lapwing, 50+ Ruff, Redshank and some Common Snipe. It's worth checking the undergrowth at the back of the pool in front of the Janet Kear Hide for Woodcock.
Two Kingfisher from the Ron Barker Hide. Goldcrest with the tit flock along the Nature Trail, also Coal Tits present.
At least 3 Stonechat on the fence posts around the reserve.
