Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Six species of Raptor

A good raptor day, free from rain bright and sunny for most of the day. A Merlin was pick of the bunch with 2 Peregrine, 6+ Common Buzzard, 2+ Marsh Harrier, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

The wildfowl numbers are continuing to build although we have had no recent counts. Peak numbers tend to occur in December and January so there are plenty more birds to arrive.

Other sighting included a probable Chiffchaff along the Nature Trail, 3 Grey Wagtail, 3 Stonechat and at least one Goldcrest.

It's great to see John Dempsey's entertaining and occasionally irreverent birdblog (click on birdblog and it will take you there) back in action. Plenty of local birding news there and from further a field.
