Spotted Flycatcher?

Spotted Flycatcher?

A report of a Spotted Flycatcher early morning sounded good though didn't stick around, this would be 8 days earlier than the first Spot Fly in Lancs in 2011. The first 2 House Martin and first Little ringed Plover of the year were recorded today, still lots of spring migrants around with upto 15 White Wagtail and at least 1 Yellow Wagtail.

Nearby along Curlew Lane over 10 Wheatear in the ploughed fields, back on site the Little Egret was seen on Woodend Marsh and from Harrier Hide today and 2 Common Sandpiper were on view from HH hide and 2 Dunlin from Ron Barker Hide.

A Marsh Harrier and several Common Buzzard were around the reserve along with Common Kestrel. Two Treecreeper were showing between In Focus and Swanlink Hide and a Kingfisher flew over the Mere before heading into the collection area.

Other wildlife included sightings of Stoat from Ron Barker and 3 species of Butterfly: Small Tortoiseshell, Peacock and Brimstone
