Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

A pleasant day, better than forecasted. Quite a build up of Common Swift feeding over the reserve 100+ birds, a classic sight in summer. Plenty of evidence of breeding with many Shelduck and Mallard chicks around the Mere and Blue Tit, Great Tit and Tree Sparrow young on the feeders.

Common Buzzard were active. At least one Little Ringed Plover on the Mere.
