Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

A calm day with the reserve jam packed with birds. Forty three European White-fronted Geese (31 adults & 12 first winter birds) dropped in on Plover field early afternoon viewed from UU hide, also 4 Barnacle Geese with the Pink-feet there.
A Wigeon count produced 418 birds ( 211 adult males, 24 first winter males & 183 females). Over 2000 Eurasian Teal, displaying males whistling to unattached(?) females.
Raptors included 2 Marsh Harrier, Hen Harrier, 2 Kestrel, Sparrowhawk, Peregrine and 3 Buzzards.

Still big numbers of Lapwing (3000+) in the area, 60+ Ruff, Dunlin and Black-tailed Godwit.
