Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Six European White-fronted Geese dropped in at 2.15pm onto Plover Field with around 100 Pink-footed Geese. Also 4 Barnacle Geese with Pink's.

An early morning count had 3,600 Pink-footed Geese and 1,150 Whooper Swan.

Waders included an influx of Common Snipe 16+ from the Ron Barker Hide alone, 40 Black-tailed Godwit, a single Oystercatcher and 40+ Ruff.

A pair of Raven were feeding on a goose corpse at the back of the Mere this morning.

Today's raptors included 4 Marsh Harrier, 2 Common Buzzard, Peregrine, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.

Short-eared Owl hunting in fields at the back of the Mere from 3.50pm.
