Wilder

A wilder day weather wise with a chilly wind than of late plus some heavy rain/hail showers late afternoon. Quite a few people around the reserve looking for the Firecrest but this roving bird gave most people the slip with only a couple of sightings on the Nature Trail in the afternoon.

At least 8 Goldcrest, 2 Treecreeper, 2 Great-spotted Woodpecker and a Chiffchaff. Also plenty of Long-tailed, Coal, Great and Blue Tits around.

No shortage of Whooper Swan with 1000+ present. Again 10,000 Pink-footed Geese with a possible White-front present.

Again 100+ Fieldfare and 20 Redwing around the area. Stonechat on Plover Field and 1000's of Starlings coming in to roost in Pat's Reed Beed from the Harrier Hide.

Four Peregrine, 2 Common Buzzard, Sparrowhawk and Kestrel.
