Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Wood Sand

A Wood Sandpiper was on view from UU hide this morning and afternoon though elusive and out of view for some time. Also 3 Common Sandpiper on site along with 5 Little Ringed Plover and the usual Ruff and Black-tailed Godwit.

At least 1 Peregrine was around the reserve today, also 1 female Marsh Harrier and the usual Common Buzzard, Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A male Bullfinch was on the feeders at Janet Kear hide.

A Hummingbird Hawkmoth was seen on the Buddlea Bush near the exit gate and later in between Swanlike Hide and Janet Kear. Still quite a few Southern Hawker Dragonflies still around along with plenty of Butterflies inc Comma and Red Admirals.
