Access to Nature
The Access to Nature Change Programme is about rethinking how outdoor spaces welcome everyone.

Hosted and facilitated by Barnwood Trust, in collaboration with Gloucestershire LNP, we're proud to be a partner in the Access to Nature programme.
‘Access to nature is unequal’ – sadly not all people experience the same opportunities to engage with the natural environment.
The Access to Nature forum was made up of more than 20 blue and green space organisations - including WWT Slimbridge, who are either Gloucestershire-based and provide activities and services within Gloucestershire or national organisations that have specific programmes of work and staff teams serving the needs of Gloucestershire.
The purpose of the programme is to:
- Give access to insight and data around barriers to nature and understanding its impact.
- Support participants to listen and understand what accessing opportunities in nature for those with protected characteristics looks and feels like from experts by experience and specialist organisations.
- Connect participants to organisations and individuals who can share their good practices and relevant support, data and tools to influence and improve organisational processes and practices.
In this short film, learn how Barnwood developed this work, meet the people leading change - (including ourselves!), and see how inclusive ideas are being brought to life across the county.
