Early bird tickets for NEW lantern experience
A brand new Mystical Marsh Lantern Experience is coming to WWT Slimbridge this Halloween.
Explore our illuminated wetlands like never before on 17 and 18 October and Half Term: 24 October - 1 November.
Journey through a spellbinding spider’s web and glowing firefly tunnel, discover enormous insects glowing in the dark, luminous owls hunting for mystical mice, and a larger-than-life kingfisher on our, NEW for 2025, wildlife-packed lantern experience.
Fun interactions with bat puppets are sure to be a hit with visitors and a friendly marsh witch will share her magical cauldron, where you'll be invited to cast a wish for nature.
Experts will be on hand, with their trusty bat detectors, to help wildlife fans spot the many elusive bats that call WWT Slimbridge their home, and craft lovers can create their own lanterns at an additional charge.
The Mystical Marsh Lantern Experience will take place on Friday 17 and Saturday 18 October, and throughout the half-term week: Friday 24 to Saturday 1 November. Tickets are now available and can be purchased for entry from 5.30pm to 7.30pm, with time slots every 15 minutes.
Relaxed SEN sessions are also available on 17, 18 and 24 October during twilight times at 5.30pm & 5.45pm. These sessions are open to all visitors, and especially those who will benefit from reduced noise volume, softer lighting and wetland characters will also adopt a softer approach.
Food and drinks to fuel a magical night will be available until 8pm at the Kingfisher Kitchen, and there’s an opportunity to toast marshmallows on the firepit for an additional charge.
We're offering early bird tickets to anyone who books before 1 September 2025, with a £2 saving.

- Early bird offer: £10.95 per person when booked until 31 August 2025
- Normal ticket price: £12.95 per person when booked from 1 September 2025
