As winners, WWT Slimbridge may now be considered to represent Bristol, Bath and Somerset in the national VisitEngland Awards for Excellence 2025/26, giving the site the chance to gain national recognition. Each accolade received is a huge honour, and the constructive feedback received from judges is vital for us to continue to fulfil our founder Sir Peter Scott's vision of connecting people with nature, and aim for our wetlands and wildlife to be accessible to everyone.

Andrew Turner, Chief Operating Officer at the event’s headline sponsor St Austell Brewery, said:
“It was a real honour to be part of the event, celebrating the region’s thriving tourism industry and all the fantastic people who make it a success. We have so much to offer in Bath, Bristol, Somerset and Gloucestershire and the evening really showed off just how hard people work to make that possible. Congratulations to all the winners and those who were shortlisted – thoroughly deserved.”
Nell Barrington, Awards Director said:
“It was a brilliant celebration with such a positive atmosphere. Our winners were outstanding and really show what makes this region so special. Huge congratulations to them all and thank you to all our loyal supporters and sponsors.”

This incredible recognition highlights the talent, creativity and dedication of our staff and volunteers, and encourages ongoing innovation in accessibility and sustainability.
Thank you to our visitors and members, without whose vital support and feedback we could never have hit this award-winning streak!
