This autumn we are reducing the size and cost of grain bags we sell for hand-feeding wild birds around Swan Lake. Hand-feeding is a much-loved activity here at WWT Slimbridge, and its popularity has led to an imbalance in the ecosystem around the lake. When too much grain enters the water, it disrupts the delicate balance of plants and other wildlife. So that we can continue to offer our visitors the hand-feeding experience, we have taken the measure of reducing the size of grain bags to ensure that the water quality of Swan Lake and our other connected water bodies is optimal to maintain a healthy ecosystem.
