New exhibiton: Lizzie Tucker and Cosy Corner Print

The featured "Pheasant" mosaic is by Lizzie Tucker:

Lizzie is a Bristol-based mosaic artist and musician and has been using mosaics to explore the truly spectacular and diverse wildlife around us since 2005.

Lizzie works primarily in stained glass, drawing inspiration from the rural countryside around her, with occasional more exotic influences creeping in. Her wildlife mosaics feature birds, trees and animals - a favourite subject is native birds.

She strives to create modern, vibrant, flowing mosaics, which is challenging due to the static and fixed nature of glass. Her mosaic process begins with a rough sketch, and then she uses large sheets of stained glass and cuts each piece to shape by hand. It's an organic process which often changes as it progresses, with no defined structure and can take weeks. Grouting is the final stage of the process – the colour chosen is crucial and will either bring the whole piece together or break it apart.

Lizzie has exhibited at every North Somerset Arts Week since 2007, and sells work nationally and internationally. In 2026 she mosaiced a 5ft high Gromit as part of the Gromit Unleashed 3 Sculpture Trail in Bristol, organised by the charity The Grand Appeal to raise funds for Bristol Children’s Hospital. This mosaic used over 15,000 tiles and took over 250 hours (raising £65,000 at auction). Her artwork has been sold by the National Trust as greeting card packs and she sells original artworks, cards and prints through Etsy. Commissions welcome.

The other artworks on display are created by Alan Hackett:

"At Cosy Corner Print, we believe that art has the power to transform interiors and elevate everyday living."

Since 2024, what began as a personal creative pursuit has evolved into a small local business, offering a carefully curated collection of unique artworks across a wide range of subjects, each designed to enhance the character and individuality of your home."

"We believe every home tells a story. Our elegant abstract compositions, striking animal portraits, and charming illustrative pieces are created to help you express yours.
