We have scored 96% in our recent VAQAS (VisitEngland Quality Assured Visitor Attraction) assessment, again improving on previous high scores with a 1% increase from the 2019 assessment. We are now also eligible to be nominated once again for the VisitEngland Gold Accolade!

VisitEngland were highly impressed by our staff and volunteers as well as our new exhibits including Mission Possible and the Living Wetland Theatre and Waterscapes Aviary. The assessor was furthermore impressed by our new app – Wetland Heroes, which they felt was entertaining and informative. They also commented that the expanding visitor offer helped to both educate and entertain visitors and that for our assessment scores to be consistently high (and especially so during the Covid restrictions), means a huge congratulations are in order for the entire team.

Fran Penny, Visitor Experience Manager for WWT Slimbridge says:

We’re really pleased to have once again improved on our score from the last assessment. The team work really hard to deliver a great day out to all our visitors and our latest score of 96% recognises their hard work. I’m really pleased that the assessor reviewed and enjoyed some of our newest attractions, including Mission Possible and the Living Wetland Theatre.
