Breakfast with Santa
Santa and his swans are on their way! Meet him at his wetland grotto this Christmas.
Come along and see Santa in his magical grotto and receive a special gift from the man himself. Then head to our festive Kingfisher Kitchen and enjoy a delicious full English breakfast.
Afterwards, wrap up warm and make enchanted memories as you soak up our seasonal wildlife and enjoy an adventure-packed day in our winter wonder-wetlands.
We’ll have elf-led and self-led festive activities throughout the day so yule have lots to enjoy after seeing our special guest, from Christmas crafts to posting a letter to the North Pole in our Slimbridge post office.

Please arrive on site at least 30 minutes before your time slot to make sure you have checked in and are at the Grotto on time to see Santa. Please note the time slot refers to your grotto visit, not entry to the site or to your breakfast.

What is Breakfast with Santa?
Breakfast with Santa is a festive experience for families that includes a visit to Santa’s Grotto in the Pond Zone, where children can meet Santa and receive a special gift. The package also features a delicious full English breakfast served in our holiday-themed Kingfisher Kitchen. Plus, enjoy extra seasonal activities to make your visit even more magical.
Will other families be in the grotto when I visit Santa?
Your visit to Santa’s Grotto will be a private, one-to-one experience for you and your party. However, other families booked within the same time slot may be present in the Pond Zone waiting area.
Will I see Santa at my time slot?
Our elves will do their best to get you into Santa’s Grotto as soon as possible. However, there may be a short wait of up to 30 minutes in the outdoor Pond Zone waiting area. Please make sure everyone in your group is dressed warmly and appropriately for the weather.
Is the event suitable for children under 3 years old?
Yes, it's suitable for under 3s. You can book a ticket for a grotto visit and gift, or choose free admission without the visit and buy a small breakfast separately.

Do I need to pre-book my tickets?
Yes. Pre-booking is required, with limited slots available. Choose your preferred time when booking.
How much are tickets?
- Junior (3–17): £13.50 with full English breakfast, Santa visit & gift, £10.50 without a visit to Santa
- Adult (incl. concessions/helpers): £17.50 with breakfast & bottomless tea/coffee
- Under 3s: £7 with under 3s breakfast, Santa visit & gift, or free without gift
Admission is not included. Every adult must purchase an event ticket, and all attending children need a ticket - even if not visiting Santa. Each group must include at least one adult. Admission is free for essential helpers attending with a paying visitor.
Is Breakfast with Santa included in my day ticket to WWT Slimbridge?
No, Breakfast with Santa is not included in your general admission. If you're not a WWT Member, you'll need to purchase admission tickets for all attending adults and children. In addition, every adult joining the event must also purchase an event ticket for Breakfast with Santa.
How many children can I book to visit Santa?
You can book up to 6 children per group to visit Santa’s Grotto, as the space is limited. If your party includes 8 or more people in total, please contact us directly by emailing events.slimbridge@wwt.org.uk or call 01453 891900 (Monday–Friday, 9.30am – 5pm) to arrange your booking. This helps us ensure there’s enough seating available in the Kingfisher Kitchen for your breakfast experience.
How will I receive my tickets?
Tickets will be emailed to you after purchasing. Please keep these safe as you will need to show these on arrival.
What’s included with my Breakfast with Santa ticket?
Each ticket includes admission to WWT Slimbridge for the day, a full English breakfast, and access to festive activities.
- Children (ages 3–17): Grotto visit, gift from Santa, child-sized breakfast.
- Adults & concessions: Breakfast and activities.
- Under 3s: Free admission, grotto visit, age-appropriate gift and breakfast.
Do I need to pay extra for the Christmas activities?
No, all festive activities are included with your Breakfast with Santa ticket. We'll be updating our website with full details of what's on offer as the event approaches.
I’m a WWT member - do I need to buy tickets for Breakfast with Santa?
Yes, all attending adults and children must have an event ticket. To qualify for free site admission, each person must hold an active membership and be named on it. Additional guests will need both admission and event tickets. Children under 3 and essential helpers are excluded.
I’m a Boundless member - do I need to buy tickets for Breakfast with Santa?
Yes, all attending adults and children must have an event ticket. To qualify for free site admission, each person must hold an active membership and be named on it. Additional guests will need both admission and event tickets. Children under 3 and essential helpers are excluded.
Boundless Members must book admission tickets separately, via your dedicated Boundless link, and then book your Breakfast with Santa event tickets here. Please bring your Boundless membership card and ID. Additional guests will need both admission and event tickets.

To add people to your group or if you might miss your time slot, please contact us as soon as possible. We’ll do our best to help, but changes aren’t guaranteed due to high demand.
What is your cancellation policy?
Tickets are non-refundable. If, for any reason, you are unable to attend an event on the date you have booked, at least 7 days’ notice must be given for us to transfer you to an equivalent event.

What date is Breakfast with Santa at WWT Slimbridge?
Breakfast with Santa is available on Saturday 13th, Sunday 14th, Saturday 20th, Sunday 21st, Monday 22nd and Tuesday 23rd December 2025.
What time is Breakfast with Santa?
Santa’s Grotto runs from 10am to 2:15pm with 30-minute bookable slots. You’ll choose your time when booking online. Please arrive at your scheduled slot - not earlier - as multiple families are booked per time.
WWT Slimbridge is open from 9:30am to 4:30pm, so you’re welcome to enjoy the site before or after your visit.
When should I arrive?
We can be very busy in December so we recommend arriving at WWT Slimbridge at least 30 minutes before your timeslot to make sure you have checked in and are at the Grotto on time to see Santa. The timeslot on your ticket refers to seeing Santa, not entry to the WWT Slimbridge or your breakfast.

Is the Breakfast with Santa event at WWT Slimbridge accessible?
Yes, the event is wheelchair accessible with level paths, ramp access, and a Changing Places facility near the Visitor Centre and Grotto.

What if I have SENS requirements?

Will there be toilet and baby changing facilities?
Yes, baby changing facilities are available throughout the centre, with the nearest to the Pond Zone located opposite the Kingfisher Kitchen. The Visitor Centre has male, female, and wheelchair-accessible toilets, plus a fully equipped Changing Places facility just outside.

What time is breakfast?
When you arrive, please check in with our admissions team – they’ll confirm your booking and direct you to Santa’s Grotto. Your breakfast table will be ready for you immediately after your grotto visit, so head straight to the Kingfisher Kitchen once you’ve seen Santa.
Will I be seated with people outside my family or group for breakfast?
No, your group will have a reserved table after visiting Santa’s Grotto. To sit together, everyone must have an event ticket. Please contact us to add extra guests so we can adjust your table size.
What if my group is larger than 8 people?
We may be able to accommodate larger groups for breakfast, but due to limited seating in the Kingfisher Kitchen, you’ll need to contact us directly by email at events.slimbridge@wwt.org.uk or call 01453 891900 (Monday–Friday, 9.30am – 5pm) to arrange your booking. This allows us to check availability at your preferred time.
Can I change my breakfast timeslot?
Unfortunately, no. Your breakfast timeslot is scheduled to follow directly after your visit to Santa’s Grotto. This helps us manage table availability and ensure every family or group is accommodated smoothly throughout the day.
What other food options will be available?
Other food options will be available, including a limited selection of sandwiches.
In addition, the Welly Boot Land kiosk will be open, and the Canoe kiosk will operate during good weather. Both kiosks offer snacks and hot drinks, including some festive treats to enjoy during your visit.
