Bar-tailed Godwit new for the year
A Bar-tailed Godwit found yesterday was still present today and is the first record of thiss coastal wader on the reserve this year. More wader action with the arrival of 3 Little Stint best viewed from the Ron Barker Hide. Other waders included 11 Dunlin, 500 Lapwing, 25 Black-tailed Godwit, 60+ Snipe, Green Sandpiper and heard only Greenshank.
The wildfowl influx continues with a good count of 1400+ Teal. An eclipse or female Garganey was seen among them. The 5 Pink-footed Geese are still present, at least 60 Shoveler are worth checking for a Blue-winged Teal at this time of year!
Three possibly more Marsh Harrier seen in the last two days. Peregrine, 3+ Common Buzzard, 2 Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.
Other birds noted include Kingfisher, Yellow Wagtail, Grey Wagtail and Wheatear.
