Chiffchaff

Following the atrocious weather conditions of the last few days, it was nice to have the opportunity to get out and see some birds. A Chiffchaff in trees near the Gladstone hide this afternoon was today's star bird, although a quick look late on failed to locate it.

2 Peregrines and at least 3 Marsh Harriers were active all day, and a Merlin was seen on a couple of occasions from the United Utilities hide. A Tawny Owl was again roosting in an ivy covered tree just past the Kingfisher hide.

A single Barnacle Goose seen from the United Utilities hide is suspected to be sick or injured.

Barn Owls were late out today, with a single individual seen briefly at about 4 o'clock.IMG_0075
