Hobby

A Hobby, probably a juvenile bird was seen mid afternoon being chased by a crow over the reserve, also an adult Peregrine was seen in the morning and a Marsh Harrier this afternoon also plenty of Common Buzzard sightings along with Kestrel and Sparrowhawk.

A juvenile Mediterranean Gull was on the Mere again before flying off towards the coast. A sub adult Great Black-backed Gull is still on the Mere along with the pair of Lesser Black-backed Gulls, good numbers of Black-headed Gulls around the site and the odd Common Gull being seen.

Still at least 25+ Ruff and a similar number of Black-tailed Godwit, small numbers of Common Snipe and good numbers of Lapwing throughout the reserve.

Up to 8 Grey Heron and 1 Little Egret around the Mere. Increasing numbers of Teal c400 around the site.

A few Pied/White Wagtail using the newly enlarged 'Green Sandpiper' scrape this afternoon viewed from UU Hide, 3 of which were thought to be White Wagtails.
