Café kitchen closure

From 8–17 September, our café kitchen will be closed for refurbishment. During this time, our front-of-house will remain open, offering a selection of cakes and ice cream, sandwiches, and drinks. You will also be able to visit our kiosks by the play areas.

Eight Species of Raptor

The juvenile Temminck's Stint is still present today, attracting a steady stream of admirers. The bird has been spending most of it's time on Vinson's Marsh.

Other waders included 2 Greenshank over the reserve 1.45pm, 2 Green Sandpiper, 10+ Ruff, 10+ Black-tailed Godwit, 30+ Snipe and 500+ Lapwing.

A ring-tailed Harrier presumed Hen, two Merlin (one adult male and a juv) present in the afternoon, male Peregrine spooked the waders on the Mere late morning. Other raptors included 2 Marsh Harrier, 3 Buzzard, 2 Kestrel, female Sparrowhawk and Hobby to give us an 8 species of raptor day!
