Today's sightings

South Lake Hides

Waders on the scrape included 115 Black-tailed Godwit, 423 Dunlin, 680 Lapwing, 3 Redshank and 5 Golden Plover.  An Oystercatcher and 2 Snipe were on the causeway.  A total of 22 Pochard were on the deep lake with 12 Shoveler.  A Buzzard flew over.

Zeiss Hide

At least 31 Ruff were on the Top New Piece scrape along with 331 Golden Plover and 700 Lapwing.  Also present were 32 Curlew, 6 Snipe and over 500 Dunlin.  A carpet of around 500 Wigeon were on the field and 350+ Teal on the scrape with 26 Pintail.  A Cetti's Warbler was calling from the reedbed.

Kingfisher Hide

A Jack Snipe flew over the path and disappeared towards the Dumbles.  On the Bottom New Piece field were 23 Curlew, 6 Ruff and a Little Egret.  A Great Spotted Woodpecker was on the feeders.  A Kingfisher was seen in the South Finger Reedbed.

Rushy Hide

Around 40 Bewick's Swans were at the feed this morning, including the latest arrivals Fortune Two and Combo.  We also have Aye-aye back in the grounds on the Tundra Pen with a yearling, but no sign yet of her mate Aye-man.
