Sunday sightings

Migrants today included a Redwing and Wheatear.

Holden Tower

Song Thrush and Blackcap. 90+ Linnet, 2 Peregrine and a Buzzard on the Dumbles. A Siskin was calling from the Decoy. Two Marsh Harrier remain on the reserve and could be seen in flight to the North.

Knott Hide

Snipe in the cut ride and Cetti's Warbler, a Sparrowhawk drew lots of attention from the roving tit flocks early morning.

Willow Hide/withy's

8+ Chiffchaff and 2 Goldcrest.

Tack Piece

A Green Sandpiper and juvenile Ruff early morning + 80 Teal and 16 Lapwing.

Rushy Hide

Little Grebe, Grey and Pied Wagtail, Grey Heron, 8 Lapwing and Black-tailed Godwit + 72 Teal.

Estuary

70 Curlew, 4 Little Egret, 10 Dunlin and 3 Grey Plover noted today.

South Lake

37 Redshank, 48 Black-tailed Godwit, 40+ Lapwing, 1 Ruff, 30+ Shoveler, 2 Pochard, 45 Tufted Duck among the birds seen here today.

Top New Piece

A roving party of c 20 Ruff with three more settled among the Lapwing. 52 Golden Plover, 140 Dunlin, 8 Snipe and a Greenshank on the flood. 2 Wigeon, 12 Pintail and 800+ Teal also present, a calling Cetti's Warbler in the reeds.
